Samuel Hui Koon-kit, commonly referred to as Sam Hui, is a musician, singer, songwriter and actor from Hong Kong. He is credited with popularizing Cantonese through the transmission of Western-style music and the use of native Cantonese instead of writing in the native Chinese language with lyrics that are difficult to resolve contemporary issues and concerns. Hui is considered by some to be Cantopop's first major superstar, nicknamed the God of Song.
